Babysitters
For those who need a regular or one-off Babysitter, this service is for you. Our Babysitters consist of our current Nannies and we also have Babysitters who work on a casual basis. They have all been police checked, undergone extensive interviewing by Centenary Nannies and have had some form of experience with children.

Babysitters are available for day work, night time or overnight stays. They are able to go to the venue of your choice, whether it is in the family home, restaurant, shops, hotel or corporate events. Babysitters will go any where that suits your needs.

The role of a Babysitter is different to that of a Nanny, as they are there primarily to supervise the children. If the children need bathing, feeding or dressing the Babysitter is there to help. Any extra household duties will be charged at a higher rate.
Our Babysitters are available most of the time. Payment is made to the Babysitter at the end of their shift. We have once of payments for the babysitters or you might like to take advantage of our special offers and purchase babysitting voucher booklets. These come in a book of 5, 10 or 20.
Nannies
What Nanny do I need?

Permanent: This person will be full time. Generally they will work from 7am up until 7pm Monday-Friday. As this position is full time, it is recommended the employer be paying the Nanny full time rates.

Part-Time: Usually a part time Nanny works between 15-36 hours per week.

Casual: This Nanny works up to 15 hours per week.

Weekend Nanny: Caters for families who need someone for the weekend period. Usually Friday 5pm-Sunday 7pm.

Live-In Nanny: This person will live with the family. They will need seperate accommodation and facilities available to them. They usually work between 45-55 hours per week. As the live-in Nanny usually works full time hours, they should be offered the same pay as a full time Nanny, unless other arrangements have been made.

Before and After School care: This is generally a split shift. This person is there in the mornings to help organise children and drop them to school and pick them up in the afternoons. This Nanny may have to take them to their extra curricular activities. They can assist with evening meals. Nannies would usually work 7-9am and 3-7pm.

Times and wages are negotiated between the employer and the Nanny, not Centenary Nannies. This page is only used as a guideline to help those who want work but not sure what hours are expected and for those who need a Nanny but are not sure which category Nanny they would need.

Nannies are non-award employees therefore there is no award rate for their wages. However they should be paid the QLD minimum wage for a full time employee, which is $503.80. For more information regarding wages log onto wageline.qld.gov.au
